BOTOX® and Dysport® are neuromodulators, which means they work by blocking nerve signals from the brain to the muscles in treated areas. We use this approach because wrinkles like crow’s feet and frown lines, also known as dynamic wrinkles, begin underneath the skin in the muscles themselves.

Every time we smile, cry, laugh or frown, our facial muscles force the skin above them to crinkle and fold. The skin bounces back at first, but eventually, the lines will remain even when the face is in a neutral position. This is when a treatment like BOTOX® or Dysport® is beneficial. By allowing these muscles to remain relaxed, the skin will have a chance to stay smooth and free of wrinkles.

What Can I Expect During Treatment?

You will first need to come in for an initial consultation, during which you will discuss your goals, expectations and medical history with our doctor. After it is determined that you are a good candidate, you can set an appointment for your treatment.

Treatment sessions for BOTOX® and Dysport® are both quick and easy. You will receive a series of injections, which should take less than an hour to complete. After your treatment is finished, you can go back to your daily routine.
